Air-Cooled Aftercoolers (Van Air AC Series)

In Van Air AC series air-cooled after-coolers, hot compressed air is introduced to the core as ambient air is drawn across it, leaving the exiting air cooler. AC series after-coolers are normally sized for a 15°F (or less) approach to ambient air. For example, a compressor discharges 250°F air and the after-cooler is located in 80°F ambient conditions. With a 15°F approach, the air exiting the after-cooler will be 95°F and saturated, and the moisture created by cooling from 250°F to 95°F will condense.

Features and Benefits

  • Horizontal or vertical flow directions
  • Galvanized steel cabinet
  • Open vented motor
  • Pressure drop less than 3 psi at 80-125 psig

Aircel Water-Cooled Aftercoolers (50 – 3,000 scfm)

The Aircel WA Water-Cooled AfterCoolers and separators are an ideal combination to remove troublesome moisture from compressed air. With proper installation of after-coolers and matching liquid separators, conclusive proof has shown that they perform effectively in maintaining trouble-free operation of compressed air equipment.

By lowering the temperature of the compressed air in downstream air lines using water-cooled after-coolers, up to 70% of the water vapor present condenses to a liquid, which can then be removed by moisture separators.

Features
  • Single pass design with smooth surface copper tubes minimizes fouling and allows lower pressure drop.
  • Counter-flow shell and tube design provides close approach temperature; gains maximum heat removal benefit from expensive cooling water.
  • Cooper heat exchanger surfaces provide excellent heat transfer.
  • Seamless shells have maximum rupture strength and corrosion resistance.
  • Tube rolled into tubesheet eliminates thermal stress.
  • Removable end bonnets facilitate cleaning and servicing.
  • Drain ports on shell side for easy maintenance.
  • Compact package provides smaller footprint.
  • Can be mounted in horizontal or vertical positions

Diversified Manufacturing (IPAC)

Diversified Manufacturing (dmi) has been manufacturing custom Heat exchangers for over 40 years. Their customers are petrochemical and chemical companies, medical, industrial gas, pharmaceutical, and many other industries. These exchangers are applied in pressure and vacuum applications and involve both liquids and gas. We have supplied many of these in compressed air systems of all sizes, high temperatures and a range of pressures.
