Absorbent Deliquescent Natural Gas Desiccants
AVP sells a full line of GasDry natural gas desiccants. These absorbent deliquescent natural gas desiccants are manufactured by Van Gas Technologies; a division of Van Air Inc.
For over 65 years, Van Air has been developing deliquescent desiccants, longer than anyone else in the industry. The company manufactures the GasDry line of deliquescent natural gas desiccants at their own factory to ensure the highest quality products are available to you.
Natural gas desiccants are used for removing water vapor up to three different RH levels from natural gas during production, transmission and distribution. These deliquescent natural gas desiccants are used in Fuel Gas Dryers, Instrument Gas Dryers and Sales Gas applications.

GasDry™ Prime Deliquescent Desiccant
Van Gas Technologies’ GasDry Prime™ is a low-cost absorbent deliquescent desiccant formulated for single and sequential tower natural gas dryers. This wet bed desiccant is a hard tablet formed from hygroscopic materials that attract and hold moisture. The materials in the compound are non-toxic and completely soluble in water.
As the desiccant tablet draws water vapor out of the natural gas, the surface of the tablet slowly dissolves and forms a solution which eventually drops from its surface. The deliquescent desiccant tablet continues to remove moisture and forms this solution until the tablet is entirely consumed. When used in a properly sized single or sequential tower desiccant gas dryer, GasDry Prime will remove sufficient moisture vapor to establish a 55% RH in the gas line.
For over six decades, Van Gas Technologies has been an industry leader in absorbent desiccant technology. Please contact us today with any questions you may have or to place your order.
Features and Benefits
- No energy or fuel gas consumption
- Prevents condensation
- Prevents wintertime gas line freeze-ups and hydrate formation
- Environmentally safe
- Low cost of operation relative to glycol or regenerative desiccant dryers
- Little or no maintenance
- Available in 50# bags, 50# pails, 506# steel drums and 2,000# bulk bags
- 3/4″ tablet
GasDry™ Peak Deliquescent Desiccant
Van Gas Technologies’ GasDry Peak™ is an absorbent deliquescent desiccant formulated for single and sequential tower natural gas dryers.
When used in a properly sized single or sequential tower desiccant gas dryer, GasDry Peak will remove sufficient moisture vapor to establish a 33% RH in the gas line.
Recommended for use where the operating temperature is at or below 80° F, GasDry Peak is specifically formulated to be used as a first stage absorbent desiccant in the natural gas dehydration process. This deliquescent desiccant is also highly recommended for point of use applications. When applied in higher operating temperatures, a pre-bed of ceramic bead support is recommended to minimize channeling in the desiccant bed.
For over six decades, Van Gas Technologies has been an industry leader in absorbent desiccant technology. Please contact us today with any questions you may have or to place your order.

- 3/4″ tablet
GasDry™ MAX Deliquescent Desiccant
GasDry Max™ is the most aggressive absorbent deliquescent desiccant for use with single and sequential tower natural gas dryers on the market.
When used in a properly sized single or sequential tower desiccant gas dryer, GasDry Max will remove sufficient moisture vapor to establish a 13% RH in the gas line.
GasDry Max is recommended for use where the operating temperature is at or below 100° F. For applications where the temperature conditions exceed 100° F, a pre-bed of ceramic bead support is recommended to minimize channeling in the desiccant bed.
For over six decades, Van Gas Technologies has been an industry leader in absorbent desiccant technology. Please contact us today with any questions you may have or to place your order.

GasDry™ ULTIMATE (4UF) Deliquescent Desiccant
Natural gas or process gas dehydration at low pressures, low flow rates, and / or low temperatures can be very difficult. Most conventional salt-type absorbent desiccants are unable to adequately dry gas to low water content under these conditions. 4UF was developed to meet low dew point requirements when other desiccants or glycols cannot.
4UF can be used by itself or in combination with other grades of deliquescent desiccant, such as SP or 10BF Desiccant. In some applications, consumption is optimized when the process gas flows through the lower grade desiccant prior to the highly absorbent 4UF.
*4UF is also known as Gas Dry™ Ultimate
Features and Benefits
- 7 lbs H2O/MMSCF gas is attainable @ 50 psig & 60°F.
- 20 lbs H2O/MMSCF gas is attainable @ 25 psig & 80°F.
- Gas temperatures below freezing can be dried and still obtain a low equilibrium RH.
- 4% Equilibrium RH
- Can dry gas for a lower cost than glycol systems, in some applications.
Features and Benefits
- Meets Pipeline Gas Moisture Specifications
- Fuel Gas & Biogas Dehydration
- Instrument Gas Dehydration
- Lowers moisture content of Biogas
- Remote Outdoor Locations Without Electricity
